Mark Wallinger and the great north run

To the Baltic for the showing of mark wallinger’s film about the great north run, followed by an interview with Kirsty Wark. The great north run film was a bit tedious. It reminded me of Warhol’s Empire State in its testing of the audiences patience. Wallenberg has a camera follow the route of the GNR. Questions arise about how he did it but there is ( deliberately) not a lot of action or intervention from the artist.
During the interview session with Kirsty Wark, Wallinger clearly comes across as a thoughtful person however not sufficiently enough to excuse the notion that he comes up with fairly simple ideas and people like Kirsty Wark indulge and justify it for him. Oh well.
